Gynecomastia is an increase in the amount of mammary gland tissue in boys or men, caused
by an imbalance of the hormones estrogen and testosterone. It can affect one or both breasts, sometimes unevenly.

The surgical technique will depend mainly on the degree of gynecomastia, and on the distribution and proportion of the various components. Liposuction has emerged as one of the most common techniques to solve this pathology, alone or in combination with other procedures.

This procedure is performed under general anesthesia and its duration and hospitalization depends on the degree of gynecomastia to be resolved.
